I was forced to live in the same house as a child molester who repeatedly abused me. By age thirteen, I’d been called a slut and liar by my extended family after I finally found the courage to tell my story of sexual abuse. Social services did mostly the same thing. I stood at the brink of suicide, only to pull myself up out of the darkness and pioneer the first world-class treatment centre for kids who were sexually abused.
Someone whom I consider to be a powerhouse woman, someone who inspires me every day.
